ANS 220 Introductory Horse Science
Basic course in commercial horse production and management. Covers breeds, breeding systems, physiology, nutrition, reproduction and diseases. Also develops basic skills in handling, foot care, feeding, selection and health management.

Compare and contrast breed types and origins. Diagram equine skeletal, muscular, dental, and reproductive anatomy. Select and balance a quality feed ration. Practice excellent equine safety, husbandry, and management. Compose a formal scientific laboratory report.
