SPAN 342 Spanish in the US

An introduction to Spanish language and Spanish-speaking communities in the US including communities in the Southwest Florida the Northeast Louisiana and the Midwest. This course focuses on the language-internal features apparent in the different regions as well as social factors like age education gender race nationality and socioeconomic status. We will also discuss social issues such as language attitudes and bilingualism.
