Post-Baccalaureate Legal Nurse Consultant Certificate

Purpose

Registered Nurses who have completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree have the opportunity to earn a Post-Baccalaureate Legal Nurse Consult (LNC) Certificate. The LNC role is a functional specialty practice of nursing wherein LNCs utilize critical thinking and expert knowledge of healthcare systems and professions to assess healthcare practice standards applicable to nursing.

Program of Study

The Post-Baccalaureate Legal Nurse Consultant Certificate comprises fifteen (15) graduate credits. All LNC courses are offered through online education only. Students should be comfortable with the online learning format.

Program Competencies

 In addition to the University’s undergraduate graduation competencies, students will be able to:

1. Implement knowledge of the medical and legal system to meet the needs of their clients and society.

2. Negotiate an appropriate professional role within the dynamic legal system.

3. Promote the art of nursing by valuing the unique relationships among people, which create meaning and preserve human dignity.

Up to six (6) transfer credits may be accepted for the Post-Baccalaureate LNC Certificate.
