PSY 158 Educational Psychology

This course examines how developmental biological and cultural factors influence the ability and motivation to learn. Assignments and class discussions address the role of teachers parents, and other adults in facilitating children's development in school contexts. Emphasis is placed on the interaction between cognitive performance and the total sociocultural environment in which the child and adolescent lives. Prerequisite: PSY 1, PSY 12 or PSY 102.
