WD4. 156 Machinery Operation Maintenance

A comprehensive study of the in-plant installation, operation and maintenance of manufacturing machinery. Includes safety, rigging, pumps, compressors, bearings, lubrication, motors with couplings, and clutches. Also includes machinery alignment and how it is accomplished. Required: Instructor approval.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Identify components of in-plant manufacturing machinery systems. Classify components based on category: electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical. Demonstrate knowledge of applicable safety procedures. Demonstrate knowledge of in-plant installation, operation, and maintenance of manufacturing machinery systems. Describe machinery-alignment methods, equipment, and techniques.
