Provides welding skill level required in minor industrial applications. Includes more advanced electric arc-welding and an introduction to gas-shielded arc processes (MIG and TIG), as well as lab and technical information on related welding subjects.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Use applicable equipment safely. Employ correct operating parameters for the welding processes and consumables used. Differentiate between the recommended applications for various welding processes. Demonstrate correct set up and operation of applicable SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, plasma arc, cutting, and air carbon arc cutting and gouging equipment. Perform welding in the flat position, horizontal position, vertical position, and overhead position.
