NUR 268C Drug Therapy & Nursing Implications
This one-credit course focuses on nursing management and critical thinking pertaining to medication therapy. Drug classifications and prototype drugs will be studied. This class will focus on therapeutic uses, drug actions, adverse reactions, drug interactions, and nursing implications for the following drug groups which are applicable to the content provided In NUR 103.

Prerequisite: NUR 268B Drug Therapy and Nursing Implications with a grade of C or better.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Apply concepts of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Justify situation specific medication use. Calculate medications accurately. Select non-drug complementary measures/nursing interventions to promote therapeutic effects of medications. Identify appropriate nursing interventions/actions to adverse drug effects. Identify appropriate methods for medication administration. Evaluate the effectiveness of medications.
