NUR 230 LPN to Professional Nurse II*

This second-semester course in the LPN to Professional Nurse program focuses on the problems and the physical and psychosocial health needs of acutely-ill adult clients. Topics include effective communication, advanced nursing care using evidence-based practices, and intervention and evaluation strategies in the nursing process. The course’s clinical setting helps students gain experience and competency in the following areas: discharge planning, community nursing, advanced medical surgical nursing, delegation, and leadership. Students utilize their knowledge of new developments in health care to adapt and be proactive as professional nurses. 

6 hours lecture, 12 hours laboratory.
