NUR 130 LPN to Professional Nurse I*

For licensed practical nurses with two years’ experience who have been out of a nursing program for more than two years. This first-semester course in the LPN to Professional Nurse program updates students on the philosophy, policies, and procedures of the Cochise College nursing program and on changes within the profession. Emphasis is on the nursing process, patient care planning, therapeutic use of self, and basic nursing skills. 

4 hours lecture, 1 hour laboratory.

Prerequisite

BIO 201, BIO 202, and NUR 203, all with a grade of B or better; concurrent enrollment in NUR 121A; ENG 101, ENG 102, and PSY 101; and current unencumbered Arizona LPN license, two years’ experience as an LPN, and admission into the LPN to Professional Nurse program.
