NUR 363 Nurse as Caregiver: Chronic and Palliative Care

This course emphasizes the professional nurse’s role in health restoration and maintenance for individuals and families affected by chronic conditions from diagnosis through end of life. Palliative care issues are examined. The impact of chronic health problems on the individual, family, and community is explored. During this course students will collaborate with an inter-professional health care team member to evaluate the coordinated specialized care provided to the population served with chronic health disparities (The course requires an out of classroom experience).
