HSC 7740 Cultural Diversity in Health and Illness
The goal of this course is to broaden the student's perception and understanding of health and illness and the variety of meanings these terms carry for members of differing ethnic groups. Emphasis is placed on the application of diversity, equity inclusion (DEI), and multicultural health beliefs and practices in health and illness. The need for cross-cultural competency and development of skill sets as they pertain to health care will be highlighted.
