PBH 105 U.S. Health Care: Myths and Realities

This course will introduce the students to important issues underlying the U.S. Health Care System – including issues of contemporary importance such as health care cost, health care quality, access to care, increasing number of uninsured, patient safety, prescription drug policies, physician-patient interaction, adoption and use of health care technologies, and end-of-life care.; The course is intended to provide students with an understanding of the various actors, stakeholders, interactions, and functions of the U.S. health care system, through a case-based approach interweaving real world events, practice experience, and research on the above issues.
