MCS 201 Women, Men, Sex and Power

This introductory course in gender studies will explore sex and gender and their effect on power relations in society. Our investigation will span race, sexual orientation, socioeconomic class and a variety of cultures. Our analysis of gender will include concepts of oppression, sexual and gender diversity (LGBTQIA identities), homophobia, ideals of beauty, the history of fashion and equality in work. This is an alternative to MCS 101.
