LLAS 385 Chicanx in Contemporary United States Society

The course examines interdisciplinary scholarship about the psycho-social experiences of Chicanas and Chicanosin contemporary United States society. We draw on history, cultural studies, literature, sociology, and psychology to explore how power and identity influence health, education, sex, gender, dynamics, and sexuality dynamics, and political consequences for group members. Social justice themes run throughout the course. Instructor permission required for first year students.
