ENGL 380 Creative Writing: Writing Identity

How can writing respond to the demands of the times? This creative writing workshop will examine the interplay of politics and literature. Our primary focus will be on fiction, though students wishing to write in other genres are welcome. Students will be required to respond thoughtfully and critically to assigned readings and to one another's work. We will attend to general issues of craft, as well as to broader questions about the politics of fiction and how writing can function as a form of political engagement. Open only to juniors and seniors. May be repeated for credit.
