COGS 265 Art, Creativity, and Cognition

Art - be it visual, music, dance, or literature - is an extraordinarily powerful practice, driving much of our behaviors and engaging us physically, emotionally, and cognitively. This seminar will explore the various creative arts through the perspectives of Psychology, Neuroscience, and Philosophy. Topics will range from aesthetic foundations, historical dialogues between psychology and art, as well as the biological and evolutionary bases underlying aspects of creativity and art appreciation.
