POLS 202 Leadership in the Public and Private Sphere

This seminar investigates leadership - in government in business in nonprofits - through the lenses of the social behavioral and natural sciences philosophy and the humanities. It surveys and introduces students to theories about leadership models of leadership questions about what makes leaders successful or not and in what contexts and more. The readings are drawn from works from various disciplines that provide perspectives on leadership from those of Plato to those of present day scholars of leadership management and public policy.
