ECON 352 Firm-level International Trade and Investment

Firm-level studies are now at the forefront of international trade research. In this course we look at firm behavior in the international economy and how it is influenced by government regulations and international trade agreements. We use modern trade theory to analyze firm decision-making; we start with a discussion of the firm's decision to engage in international commerce and then examine how firms choose between various types of foreign direct investment. Throughout the course we learn from empirical studies and business case studies how firms engage in international commerce.
