Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Describe the history and evolution of various media industries, including radio, television, music, internet, advertising/public relations, books, magazines, newspapers and movies. Describe the role of technology in media. Describe and critique the roles and practices of media professionals in shaping public discourse, especially in journalism, advertising and public relations. Use the internet to research current media issues/practices and create an online forum/blog to share findings.
