Guides students in developing strategies and capacities to explore and achieve their academic goals. Assignments prompt reflection on values, interests, strengths and challenges, while fostering connection to the college community. Supports students in the creation of an education plan.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Explain the basic mechanisms of effective learning and metacognition. Identify common expectations, skills, and strategies for academic success in higher education. Recognize and describe their own strengths, behaviors, and potential challenges affecting their learning. Utilize resources and services in order to address challenges and achieve goals. Establish relationships and engage with the LBCC community for personal growth and success. Articulate their values, interests, and goals and develop an academic plan to work towards those goals.
