Focuses on continuing to apply the techniques and structures of fiction writing introduced in WR 241. Includes writing fiction, having work critiques by instructor and peers, and critiquing that of others in a workshop setting.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Demonstrate advanced fiction-writing skills (dialogue, setting, character, conflict, plot, narrative arc etc.) through practicing the craft of fiction writing in a workshop environment. Write and speak skillfully about the craft of fiction writing. Interpret fiction through critical evaluation. Write fiction that addresses elements of the human condition. Participate in activities that encourage personal awareness, growth, and/or creativity through fiction writing.
