PSG 205 Advanced Polysomnography

This course covers advanced sleep studies and treatment modalities in polysomnography. Students will assess patients and analyze compliance issues. The course will provide students knowledge on potential treatment options. Required: Admission to the Polysomnography program.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Describe age related differences in EEG and respiratory patterns between pediatric and adults. Identify treatment modality options including pharmacological, non-pharmacological, surgical, oral corrective devices for Polysomnographic patients. Recognize REM onset according to MSLT criteria. Define sleep events to score study and generate a report.
