EG4. 423 Architectural Design I
Introduces basic architectural drafting techniques and methods. Covers the fundamental concepts of residential building design with identification and use of professional architectural standards used in residential building drawings. Includes architectural symbols and construction methods used in residential and light commercial buildings.

Prerequisite: EG 4.411 CAD I with a grade of C or better.

Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Apply residential architectural examples and drafting standards to produce residential plans, sections, evaluations and details. Demonstrate the residential building design process and knowledge of wood framed structures. Identify building materials and the positioning of building materials in the construction process.
