2017-2018 Graduate Bulletin

Grade of WU (Withdrew Unofficially)

The grade of WU is assigned by the instructor when a student has ceased attending class and has not officially withdrawn. The grade is computed as a failure (0.0) in the grade point average (GPA), which may result in the adjustment of financial aid funds.

A student may retake a course in which they receive a WU grade and have the WU grade replaced if they receive a grade of B or better on the second attempt.  The original WU grade will remain on the student's official transcript but will not be calculated in the grade point average (GPA).  A maximum of three WU grades may be replaced.

Students who want to withdraw from a class are therefore advised to do so via CUNYfirst prior to the end of the tenth week of classes.
