General Business - Certificate (Major Code - GBUS)

The General Business Certificate provides students with a basic knowledge of business practices. It is designed to improve students’ skills and help prepare them for a career in business.

Learning Outcomes

Students who successfully complete this program will be able to do the following:

  • Demonstrate the ability to apply practical math skills used in business situations which include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages.
  • Explain the process of maintaining proper accounting records for a business and demonstrate the skills required to maintain such records.
  • Define the environments in which a business operates in local and global markets, including technology influences.
  • Examine the importance of ethical behavior and social responsibility in a business environment.
