STS 0401 Patient Care for the Surgical Technologist

This course is designed to introduce the student to safe patient care. The main focus topics of this course will be: total needs of the surgical patient, diagnostic procedures, patient identification, pharmacology, specimen care, patient transfer/transportation, bio/psycho/social needs of the patient, consents, special populations, tubes, drains and catheters, surgical dressings, and malignant hyperthermia.
