MAT 312 Business Statistics

This course introduces the student to the scientific method of collecting, organizing, and interpreting quantitative data in real-world applications.  Topics include sampling methods, graphical displays, measures of central tendency and dispersion, linear regression and correlation, continuous and discrete probability distributions, confidence intervals for one and two sample means, proportions, and variances, hypothesis testing for one and two sample population means, proportions, and variances, and goodness of fit hypothesis testing.  If time allows, ANOVA will be introduced. The use of Microsoft Excel is incorporated into this course. Effective Fall 2017, this course requires a minimum passing grade of "C-."
