ART 101 Art Appreciation 1

Art Appreciation I will introduce students to European art and architecture from Pre-historic cave paintings through the early Renaissance works of Michelangelo and Leonardo. The course will provide students with the skills necessary to analyze and interpret artworks within their historical context. Students will further examine how works of art serve many purposes including telling narrative stories, adorning sacred spaces, serving as power and propaganda, and decorating homes.
