SPE 211 Intro to Speech and Language Development

This course explores the normal acquisition and development of speech and language of children, with the focus on content, form and use. Specific influences on communication of the child will include the role of the environment, cognitive and emotional development, neurological state, health, play, and personal differences. Understanding of speech and language acquisition and development will be examined through direct observation, audio/visual tapes, readings, lectures and discussions.
