SOC 201 Principles of Sociology

This course offers a systematic study of human interaction in contemporary society. It examines major social institutions and processes - socialization, the family, sex roles, stratification, deviance and social control, race and ethnicity, and also analyzes the forces that change or stabilize society. One of the course's main objectives is to increase our understanding of the social environment and of the dynamic interaction between an individual and society. Honors sections will do further in-depth research and presentations as well as a research paper.
