PHL 203 Ethics: Human Values and Conduct

In pursuit of the fundamental questions of life that influence human aims and actions, this course presents a number of ethical perspectives developed by philosophers such as Aristotle, Kant, Mill and Sartre to justify moral beliefs and guide human behavior and social policy. Students assess these perspectives critically and apply them to contemporary social issues and moral dilemmas such as abortion, euthanasia, capital punishment, world hunger and the proliferation of nuclear weapons.
