PER 201 Acting I

This is an introductory course that explores the actor's instrument (body), function and responsibilities. The student learns to work from a point of concentration, to develop relaxation and to pursue an objective through physical and psychological action. The monologue is the scripted material that is used with emphasis on receiving and sending a clear and spontaneous intention that is believable. This course is required of all performing arts students enrolled in the core curriculum as well as the theater concentration curriculum.
