HIS 219 Vietnam: Historical Study

This course on Vietnam provides a full record of the conflict - from background on Vietnam and its people, through the French presence, to a chronology of the period from 1945-1975, with an examination of the impact of the war on American society in the years that followed. Students will be able to place the events in the perspective of history and form their own conclusions about the basis for the conflict, what was won and lost and by whom. Personal and moral issues will be examined along with the historical and political.
