ENG 217 Introduction to Journalism

An examination of the forms, functions and philosophies of modern American journalism, with an emphasis on print media. Students learn to read and interpret the news critically and to write more precisely. Using Outlook Student Press, students also learn the rights and responsibilities of student journalism while investigating, reporting and editing stories. May be used as a humanities requirement or unrestricted elective. Does not fulfill literature requirement for AA degree.
