ENG 207 Studies in the Short Story

The history of the short story since the early 19th century (Poe, Maupassant, Chekhov, Tolstoy) to the present. The course explores the elements of the short story, the differences between the short story and the other types of fiction, and the relationship between a story and its time and place. Fulfills literature requirement for AA degree.
