CRJ 217 Principles of Probation and Parole

The objective of this course is to serve as an introduction to the history, philosophy and practices of probation and parole. New concepts, such as community-based corrections and truth in sentencing, have affected both the theory and practice of probation and parole, and how society responds to the need for public safety. These issues serve as a basis for the discussion of probation and parole.
