BIO 107 General Biology I Honors

An Honors course designed for those students with a strong background in science.  Topics to be discussed include: evolution, differentiation of prokaryotes and eukaryotes, cell structures and metabolism, cell signaling, DNA, RNA and genetics, and gene translation to protein synthesis.  Emphasis will be placed on the application of basic biological concepts to independent experimentation, interpretation of data, analysis of primary scientific literature, and investigation utilizing the scientific method.
