ART 125 History of Art I Honors

ART 125 is a chronological survey of the history of Western art from prehistoric times through the Middle Ages. Students will investigate the major works of painting, sculpture and architecture produced by Western cultures during this time span. The course will emphasize understanding art as a reflection of distinctive social, political, religious and economic issues of their creators and their times. Designed for Honors students, this course will be taught at an accelerated pace and requires completion of a research paper.
