Criteria for Admission to MAT

The following items are required for admission to the MAT program. All items for submission must be completed and received by Mayville State University to be considered for admission to the Master of Arts in Teaching Program at Mayville State University.

 

1. Consultation with MSU Dean and Chair of Education: Dr. Andi Dulski-Bucholz

2. Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher.

3. Send the following 3 items to:

4. Application for graduate admission to Mayville State University.

5. An application fee of $35.00 U.S. dollars must accompany each application for admission to the university.

6. Official transcripts verifying all undergraduate course work and degrees earned from accredited institutions.

Applicants will be provided all necessary information, forms and processes to complete and submit the items below after consultation.

7. $35 MAT Graduate Program Application Fee.

8. A current resume or CV.

9. 3 Letters of reference from people who can respond to the applicant’s professionalism, potential for success in teaching, and can speak to the applicant’s content knowledge expertise. Letters may not be submitted from family members.

10. An official score report indicating successful completion of the Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators test. (Please consult with MSU Dean of Education prior to taking the exam.)

11. Signed Student Code of Conduct Form.

12. Proof of current student liability insurance.

13. Proof of fingerprinting and a background check clearance.

14. Admission Interview Essay.

15. Video conference or personal interview.
