SOC 430 Schools, Education & Society

Examines the role of educational institutions with a particular focus on social processes that create, reproduce, or alleviate various social inequalities. Some of the following topics may be covered: relations between communities and schools; effects of government control and privatization; and interactions between individuals in schooling contexts. CT law requires findgerprinting and a criminal background check for the filed experiences in this class. Fingerprinting must be completed prior to the beginning of class.
