PHYS 368 Nanoscience and Nanotechnology

A critical analysis of the literature of nanoscience and nanotechnology. This course will examine the chemical and physical properties of quantum dots carbon nanotubes metal and semiconductor nanowires and biomolecules and other nanometer scale structures useful in molecular electronics chemical biology and in building macroscopic structures with tailored properties from nanoscale components. Includes introductory instruction to scanning tunneling microscopy.
