PHIL 210 Modern Philosophy

We will address some of the fundamental issues in epistemology and metaphysics while reading selections from the works of some important philosophers from the modern period (1600-1800). Among the issues addressed will be the existence of the external world, the relation between the mental and the physical, and the foundation of our knowledge of the future. Philosophers covered will include Descartes, Leibniz, Locke, Berkeley, Hume, and Kant.
