Certificate of Advanced Study in Elementary and Secondary School Counseling
The Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS) in School Counseling provides opportunities for practicing school counselors to gain knowledge and skills pertinent to the needs of today’s students. The CAS is designed to prepare present school counselors for current issues and trends in the profession. The CAS courses can also be used as hours towards re-certification while providing focused professional development. The CAS is a post-Master’s course of study and offers the opportunity to obtain an additional 18 credits. The post-Master’s CAS in School Counseling requires the successful completion of the following six (6) core courses (18 credits) with a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. Courses are available in a traditional face-to-face format or an online format.
Please note that the Wilmington University Certificate of Advanced Study in Elementary and Secondary School Counseling is not a State of Delaware license or certificate.
Admission Requirements
- A completed Wilmington University application.
- Official transcripts with degree conferral date for a master’s degree in school counseling or closely related field.
- Current résumé.
- Interview with Program Chair.
- Students will have the option to petition for review of up to six (6) credits of previous Wilmington University graduate work as it applies to the program.
After completing all of the above requirements, register for MED 6102 (E-Folio) along with other appropriate course in the degree program.
